About Us

Years of experience

Trans Without Abuse is Part of MyCWA. We believe in building a community where adults and children live free from the fear of domestic abuse and, for almost 50 years, our staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly towards this vision.

Set up by & for trans people

Trans Without Abuse was set up in July 2023 as one of the first by and for domestic abuse services in the UK. We offer 121 support for those in the trans and non binary communities who have been affected by domestic abuse, across the whole of the Cheshire region.

Our Lead

Debbie Cannon, our lead, has been in the role since October 2023 and has already built up an extensive network of agencies who support the trans and non-binary communities in the Pan-Cheshire region and our neighbouring counties.

She has also led the development of “Live Free” the first of its kind online self paced domestic abuse recovery programme for people who are trans and non binary and who have experienced domestic abuse.
